Advancing Ecological Psychology Worldwide June 23–26, 2026
Welcome to the 2026 International Conference on Perception and Action (ICPA). This year, we meet in Omaha, Nebraska, bringing the international ecological psychology community together in a safe setting that reflects a growing culture of research and innovation.
ICPA brings together scholars from around the world who study perception and action as inseparable, mutually constraining processes grounded in organism–environment relations. The program features work spanning affordances, perceptual learning, coordination and control, development, social interaction, ecological design, and methodological innovation.
The conference is designed to support sustained dialogue across theoretical, empirical, and applied perspectives—welcoming diverse viewpoints and participants from across institutions, disciplines, and countries. We invite you to join us for a week of scientific exchange and community building as we continue to advance ecological approaches to understanding behavior in real-world contexts.

Mace Travel Fund Annoucement
Dear ISEP Members,
We are pleased to announce that ISEP will use a portion of the Mace Travel Fund to issue a small number of “ISEP Mace Travel Awards.” These will help support graduate student participation at ICPA Omaha, 2026. The student award will consist of a waiver of the conference registration fee for the student. The student’s registration fee will be paid for by the Mace Travel Fund.
To qualify for the award; (1) the student must be nominated by a faculty adviser, (2) both the student and the nominating faculty advisor must be paid ISEP members, and (3) the student must be an author on an accepted oral paper presentation or poster presentation.
To apply for this award the faculty member must submit a brief recommendation letter along with the student's CV to icpamaceaward@gmail.com. The nominating faculty member should briefly explain the value of having the student at the meeting and his or her academic merit.
Applications will be reviewed based on the following:
Financial Need: The extent to which the travel is currently unfunded by the advisor, department, or home university.
Academic Merit: Assessed in terms of scholarly contributions.
Presentation Type: Symposium, oral presentation, or poster (Note: First authors are ranked higher).
Through this award, we aim to foster the broadest possible representation of our student community at the conference. To that end, the final awards are determined by balancing the applicants' rankings based on the criteria above with the goal of representing the widest possible range of institutional and cultural backgrounds.
