Activities and Events

Local Engagement, Global Impact

To foster meaningful connections and enrich the conference experience, ICPA 2026 offers a variety of structured and informal opportunities for collaboration and social engagement. Throughout the week, participants are invited to join themed discussion sessions, networking breaks, and collaborative workshops that bring together researchers from across the perception–action sciences. These activities are designed to spark dialogue, support interdisciplinary partnerships, and create space for emerging scholars to connect with established leaders in the field.

Evening receptions and social gatherings provide additional opportunities to build community in a relaxed setting. Whether sharing ideas over refreshments, participating in small-group discussions, or exploring Omaha’s vibrant downtown together, attendees will find ample occasions to strengthen professional networks and form lasting scholarly relationships. Our goal is to cultivate an environment where conversation flows easily, new collaborations take shape, and the global ICPA community continues to grow.

Social Night

Join us on June 23, 2026, for the Welcome Reception Social Night at the University of Nebraska Omaha’s Biomechanics Building. This informal gathering offers an opportunity to meet fellow attendees, enjoy a catered dinner, and explore a one-of-a-kind biomechanics research facility. Guided lab tours will be available throughout the evening, providing participants with an inside look at the specialized laboratories housed within the building. The event is designed to encourage conversation, foster new connections, and help us officially open ICPA 2026 in a welcoming and engaging setting.

Closing Banquet

The ICPA 2026 Conference will conclude with a banquet at the Truhlsen Center, located within the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. This final evening brings together conference participants for a shared celebration marking the close of the conference.

The banquet will feature a seated dinner and live music, creating an engaging and memorable atmosphere. During the evening, attendees will also receive a framed group photograph, offered as a commemorative keepsake of ICPA 2026. The program will provide time for reflection, conversation, and recognition of the connections and collaborations formed throughout the conference.
